Labor and birth

Comprehensive support through the prenatal, birth, and postpartum period. Services include:

  • Complimentary consultation.

  • Prenatal visits. These meetings will give us the opportunity to develop a relationship and build trust, discuss your ideal birth experience, discuss and practice comfort techniques, review your options and create a birth and/or postpartum plan, just to name a few.

  • Phone and email support through the duration of your pregnancy.

  • 24/7 on-call service starting at 38 weeks until the birth of your baby.

  • Continuous support throughout labor, birth, and immediately postpartum.

  • Postpartum follow-up visits. These meetings give us the opportunity to process your birth experience and answer any questions you may have regarding your recovery, newborn care, infant feeding, etc… Referrals available for any specialty services that may be indicated.

Postpartum support individually tailored based on your family’s needs. Services include:

  • Infant feeding support (breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or any combo). This includes troubleshooting common breastfeeding challenges, proper storage and preparation of breastmilk/formula, and referrals to lactation/feeding specialists for issues outside of scope.

  • Assistance with the emotional and physical recovery after birth.

  • Provide guidance and support for all members of the household, including partners and siblings.

  • Light housekeeping and meal preparation.

  • Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding, soothing, and baby wearing techniques.

  • Referrals to local resources such as parenting classes, pediatricians, lactation support, mental health professionals, and parenting support groups.

  • Overnight care to prioritize sleep in the postpartum period.

Nutrition services

My background in nutrition gives you the option to incorporate my knowledge and expertise while receiving doula care. Some of the topics that I can guide you through include:

  • Prenatal and postpartum supplementation.

  • Managing pregnancy related symptoms, including nausea, hyperemesis, constipation, heartburn and indigestion.

  • Nutrition therapy to prevent and/or manage conditions such as anemia, pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes.

  • Intuitive eating approach to build a positive relationship with food and your unique body.

  • Meal planning and preparation, including freezer meals to support recovery in the postpartum period.

  • Guidance for navigating breastfeeding with infant allergies/intolerance such as cows milk protein allergy.
